Summary

This guide defines the key indicators for monitoring and evaluating USAID's "expanded response" to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The indicators in this guide were developed to expand the sets of indicators described in USAID's "Handbook of Indicators for HIV/AIDS/STI Programs" as well as to cover new crosscutting areas under the expanded response. The indicators in this guide are grouped into six distinct program areas: 1) care, support, and treatment; 2) prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV; 3) orphans and other vulnerable children; 4) multisectoral; 5) human capacity development; and 6) stigma and discrimination.
