Summary

These guidelines are based on the 2006 WHO guidelines on care and treatment of HIV-exposed and HIV-infected children and on resources available in Haiti. The document includes sections on prophylaxis for Pneumocystis pneumonia , TB-HIV co-infection, and presumptive diagnosis of children less than 18 months of age. It also includes tables on PMTCT, immunizations, and laboratory monitoring provided by the Haiti Ministry of Health and Population. The guidelines were developed by the Haiti Pediatric HIV Guidelines Technical Working Group with technical assistance from the FXB Center.
