Summary

This manual was developed for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation's Project Heart in South Africa in 2007-2011. The manual was developed in effort to strengthen infant and young child feeding within prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) programs in order to ensure HIV-free survival. The associated workshop was designed to equip facilitators with knowledge and skills to promote optimal practices in infant and young child feeding and maternal nutrition among mothers, their families and the community. Each session description contains learning objectives, activity description, as well as the time and materials required.
